Carolina van Haperen, born in Amsterdam, Holland in August 1968. Amsterdam is still
her hometown.
She holds a 3rd degree black belt in Aikido, recognized by Aikido Headquartes (Hombu
Dojo) in Tokyo, Japan. She has experience in Iwama Ryu/Aikikai and the complete weapons system of Iwama Ryu.
AIKIDO NAARDEN-BUSSUM, HOLLAND
Since April 2007 teaches, together with Arjan de Haan (2nd dan), Classes at Takemusu
Dojo in Naarden. Aikido Naarden-Bussum's dojo-cho is Lewis de Quiros, 5th dan.
AIKIDO MONTREUX
From 2004 until 2006 Carolina has worked with Cassidy Sensei at Aikido Montreux, in Switzerland. During this this period she served as business
administrator, course instructor, event coordinator, and co-director. During this period Carolina worked closely with Cassidy sensei and the other instructors in guiding and managing
the apprentice students and other dojo members. She is still a member of Aikido Montreux and visits this dojo periodically.
INSPIRING SENSEIS
* studies Aikido since October 1997, starting at the dojo of Lewis Bernaldo de Quiros
Sensei (5th Dan) in Holland, and following his classes ever since.
* Since 2000 trains with Patrick Cassidy Sensei
(6th Dan), beginning in Fresno California, and since 2004 in Montreux Switzerland where Cassidy Sensei has his current
dojo.
* Since 2001 trains with Miles Kessler Sensei (5th Dan), attending his workshops and
seminars on internationally ground.
UCHIDESHI experience ( - full time, live in apprentice)
Since 2000 Carolina spent a total of 13 months as fulltime student Aikido of Fresno
in California; 8 months as student of Patrick Cassidy Sensei at Aikido of Fresno, 5 weeks with Kayla Feder Sensei (6th
Dan) at Aikido of Berkeley, and 4 months as student and senior-instructor at Aikido of Fresno, whith Florian Tan Sensei (3nd
Dan).
During this time she gained experience teaching adults and children, as well as participating
in several public aikido demonstrations.
More recently Carolina has completed a 2 year commitment at Aikido Montreux (2004-2006) where she trained
fulltime and was on the teaching and managment staff (see more info about Aikido Montreux below).
PERSONAL PROJECTS

Since 2001 worked as seminar and workshop manager for Patrick Cassidy sensei and Miles Kessler sensei. She has created an
extensive international network of Aikido enthusiasts, keeping in contact with updates and interesting topics
of aikido.
* Since 2005 created an aikido woman's out-reach through a internet "blog" on the
internet. The purpose of this blog is to create a space for the discussion of training, sharing experiences and creating
a supportive space for questions and reflections.
* Carolina maintains the website http://aimushin.tripod.com since 2001.
* Was co-founder of the Aikido Club
of Amsterdam in 2002 and Aikido Vevey in 2005.
OTHER INTRESTS
* Studies
in Psycho Social Counceling at the Integral Academy for Human Science, in Utrecht, Holland.
* Yoga - seven years of practice with yoga schools in Amsterdam, as well as with Cassidy
sensei at Aikido of Fresno and Aikido Montreux.
* Spiritual
inquiry - satsangs and retreats with various spiritual teachers, such as Andrew Cohen, Eckhart Tolle, Byron
Katie, Steven Harrison. Inspired by the Integral work of Ken Wilber.
* Meditation - served five weeks at the Retreat Center of Toni Packer in New York State as living-in volunteer.
Has attended vipassana retreats in Holland and at the Theravada monastery in Kandersteg, Switzerland.
* Body work & movement - Has a general interest in body work and has experience in Chi Qong, AT, Feldenkrais,

TRAVELLING
She has been traveling in California, Turkey, Malaysia, Africa, Costa Rica, Bonaire, New York
State, Switzerland, and other european countries.

of her travelling was in the context of Aikido.
